LINCOLN COUNTY OREGON VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS SERVICES
As a firefighter, we will train you on a number of firefighting skills and techniques. In house training is provided free of charge by trained professionals. Some of the topics include hose streams, fire behavior, ladders, building construction, search & rescue, water supply, and wildand fire suppression.
As time goes on, you will have the opportunity to learn advanced skills including emergency driving, pumper operation, water tender operation, and vehicle extrication to name a few.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS)
The most frequent types of calls your local fire departments/districts respond to are for helping injured and sick people by providing emergency medical services (EMS).
We provide first response care to stabilize patients for and prepare for ambulance transport to the hospital. Emergency medical responder (EMR) training is offered in house through your agency or another close agency.
Besides firefighting and emergency medical services there are support service volunteer opportunities. These are non-combat type positions that provide important behind the scenes help.
This includes clerical duties, vehicle maintenance, fire prevention, food and beverage rehab at fire scenes, landscaping, and more. The needs are big and the sky is the limit.
